Thrills, Twists, and Shamrock Shenanigans
Hello again, dear readers!
It’s me, Quibble — wind-tossed, corners damp from spring drizzle, and heart pounding with suspense. March has arrived, and I’m positively vibrating with plot twists and green-tinged glee. The air smells like possibility (and maybe a little rain), and the stories? Oh, they’re fast-paced, unpredictable, and absolutely delicious.
This month’s genre spotlight is Thrillers and Suspense, and let me tell you, I’ve been darting around the shelves like a character in a chase scene. These books don’t just whisper—they shout, they sprint, they swerve. I’ve gasped, clutched my bookmak, and even shouted “No way!” at least twice. If you’re craving tension, secrets, and pulse-pounding plots, March is your month.
And speaking of celebration, March is Small Press Month — a time to raise a toast (green cocoa, anyone?) to indie publishers like Indies United. We’re the ones championing brave voices, quirky plots, and stories that defy the mainstream. I’ve been handing out tiny shamrocks to every author I meet, whispering, “You’re the magic.”
There’s more! March is also home to some delightful literary holidays:
Read an Ebook Week (first full week of March): I’ll be downloading thrillers like a leprechaun hoarding gold.
National Proofreading Day (March 8): I’ll be wielding my red pen like a sword, slashing rogue commas and rescuing dangling modifiers.
St. Patrick’s Day (March 17): Expect me in full green regalia, reading suspense novels under a rainbow and checking every pot for plot twists.
Inkrealm has been extra mysterious this month. One of the portals now flickers like a faulty flashlight, and I swear the thriller shelf moved three inches overnight. Breadcrumbs abound. Secrets whisper. Even the glitches feel like clues.
And don’t forget — Inklight 2026 is inching closer! June may still be a few chapters away, but the festival is already humming with anticipation. Twinkle lights are being tested, mugs are being polished, and I’ve started practicing my dramatic readings for the Readers & Writers Roundtable. You will want a front-row seat.
So here we are: a month of suspense, celebration, and shamrock-studded surprises. Whether you’re diving into a thriller, cheering for small presses, or simply chasing stories through the mist, March invites you to read boldly and leap into the unknown.
With ink-stained affection,
Quibble
