Fireworks, Paperbacks, and Summer Shenanigans
Hello again, dear readers!
It’s me, Quibble — corners fluttering like sparklers, bookmark tail swishing in patriotic rhythm, and heart doing cartwheels because July has arrived! The air smells like sunscreen, iced coffee, and freshly printed pages, and I’m ready to celebrate every single story that dares to shine under the summer sun.
July at Indies United means one thing: bookish joy turned up to eleven.
I’ve been bouncing between shelves like a firecracker on a caffeine rush — catching readers mid-chapter, dodging beach umbrellas, and trying not to melt my corners in the heat. The VR world is glowing with summer light, the website’s banners are sparkling, and I’m convinced even the commas are sweating.
But oh, this month is packed tighter than my pencil case.
🎆 Fourth of July Festivities
Nothing says “freedom” like a stack of books taller than a picnic basket. While fireworks light up the sky, I’ll be celebrating the freedom to read anything — from sci-fi adventures to heartfelt memoirs. I might even wave a tiny flag made of bookmarks. (Safety first: no open flames near paperbacks, please.)
📚 Bookish Holidays Galore
July’s calendar is practically bursting with literary confetti, and I’ve been fluttering from one celebration to the next like a bookish bumblebee. It’s National Anti‑Boredom Month, which means boredom doesn’t stand a chance when I’m around. Then comes Read a Book Day on July 9th, when I’ll be caught reading loudly, proudly, and possibly upside down. Later in the month, Paperback Book Day on July 30th gives me an excuse to cheer for the OG page-turner — no batteries, just brilliance! And of course, National Independent Bookstore Day pops up like a delightful surprise, sending me fluttering through aisles, sniffing ink, and whispering “support your local shelves!” at every opportunity.
And let’s not forget Summer is for Sci-Fi, because nothing beats reading about aliens while wearing sunglasses shaped like stars.
☀️ Summer Shenanigans in VR
The portals are humming like cicadas, the banners are fluttering, and the July spotlight is shining on creativity itself in Indies United VR Book World, Inkrealm. I’ve been doodling limericks on sticky notes, organizing impromptu haiku contests, and occasionally mistaking fireworks for punctuation marks. It’s chaotic, it’s joyful, and it’s exactly how summer should feel.
If you spot me lounging on a deck chair with a stack of paperbacks, don’t worry — I’m just “researching.” (That’s what I call reading five books at once while pretending it’s work.)
So here we are: a month of freedom, fun, and fiction. Whether you’re reading under the stars, beside the pool, or hiding from the heat behind a stack of paperbacks, July invites you to celebrate stories that sparkle, characters that roar, and imagination that refuses to take a vacation.
With ink-stained affection,
Quibble
