Hiller Shines in KC

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from one of our long‑time Indies United authors, H. Max Hiller. This October, Max will be heading to Kansas City as an official vendor at the Heartland Book Festival — and this isn’t just any acceptance. Out of more than one hundred applicants, only twenty‑two were selected, and Max earned one of those coveted spots.

The Heartland Book Festival is a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community, bringing together readers and writers from across the region. Being chosen as a vendor is a recognition of both craft and dedication, and we couldn’t be prouder to see Max’s work featured among such a talented group.

Max will be showcasing his acclaimed Cadillac Holland Mysteries, a gritty, character‑driven series set in post‑Katrina New Orleans. Readers have long been drawn to Cadillac’s sharp wit, moral complexity, and the way Max blends political intrigue with the raw, beating heart of the city itself. Festival attendees will have the chance to meet Max, explore the series, and dive into the world of a detective who never quite plays by the rules — and never stops fighting for the truth.

If you’re in or near Kansas City this October, be sure to stop by, meet Max, and explore the world of Cadillac Holland and the mysteries that have captivated readers for years.

Congratulations, Max — we’re cheering you on.
