A celebration of one man’s unstoppable writing engine
Every so often, an author sends an update that makes you sit back, blink twice, and wonder if they’ve discovered a secret pocket of time the rest of us don’t have access to. This week, that author was D. Krauss, who casually dropped into my inbox with news that can only be described as a literary avalanche. Not one book. Not two. But six works‑in‑progress, all sitting in first draft, all ready to begin the long march through rewriting, redrafting, editing, and eventually publishing.
Most writers dream of finishing a single manuscript. D. apparently dreams in trilogies, novellas, and multi‑generational sagas — and then wakes up and writes them. His update read like a man taking inventory of a warehouse he accidentally built. Entire series wrapped up, new ones launched, true stories begging to be told, and two full story collections waiting patiently for their turn in the spotlight. It’s the kind of productivity that makes the rest of us wonder if he’s secretly powered by caffeine, chaos, and a pact with the muses.
And because D. never does anything halfway, these projects aren’t small. They’re sweeping, ambitious, and interconnected — the kind of stories that expand universes, close loops, and open new doors all at once. He joked that it might take him thirty‑five years to get them all polished and published, but honestly, with the pace he’s going, I’m not convinced it’ll take him that long.
Here’s the current lineup marching toward us like a well‑armed battalion of books:
Tales of the 1st Ranger Battalion — a collected group of novellas that tie up the Ship trilogy
River of Babylon — another trilogy that ends the Partholon series
Small Town Life in Germany — a family saga from before WWI up until the present day
The Friday Night Damascus School Devil Dances — a Footloose‑like story, except this one is true
The Devil You Know — a completed story collection
Tales of the Christ — another story collection waiting in the wings
We’re kicking things off in October with The Devil You Know, the first of many more to come. After that, we’ll be releasing the rest periodically — a steady parade of Krauss brilliance that will keep readers fed for years.
D. Krauss isn’t just prolific. He’s a force of nature. And we’re thrilled, delighted, and maybe just a little bit terrified to bring this tidal wave of stories to the world.
October is only the beginning.
