Sparking Imaginations

ree

By the end of November, Ron Kinscherf will have visited nearly 750 children and gifted around 400 books this year, each one a doorway to imagination, creativity, and possibility.

Whether he's speaking to wide-eyed kindergarteners or thoughtful middle schoolers, Ron tailors each visit to meet young minds where they are. For the youngest groups, he explores the magic of storytelling: how ideas take shape, how illustrations breathe life into characters, and how adjectives add sparkle and punch to every page. With older students, the conversation deepens, how editing becomes a collaborative act, and asking for help is framed as a strength, not a weakness.

And for those curious about the world beyond the page, Ron pulls back the curtain on the business of being an author. He shares the realities of publishing, marketing, and the financial decisions that shape a writer’s career, reminding students that creativity and professionalism go hand in hand.

Ron’s visits aren’t just about books. They’re about empowerment. About showing kids that their stories matter, that their voices can be heard, and that with a little guidance, they too can become creators of worlds.
