Quibble’s November Narratives

A Month for Shared Stories, Cozy Chapters, and Anthology Magic

Hello, dear readers! It’s me, Quibble, your ever-curious literary sidekick. back with a fresh leaf of adventure as we tumble into November. The air is brisk, the stories are simmering, and I’ve swapped my Halloween costume for a scarf and a stack of anthologies. This month? It’s all about togetherness, imagination, and the joy of many voices bound in one spine.

At Indies United, November is Anthology Month, and I’m positively glowing with excitement. Anthologies are like literary potlucks—each author brings their own flavor, and together they create something rich, surprising, and unforgettable. Whether it’s flash fiction, themed collections, or genre-blending volumes, these books celebrate collaboration, creativity, and community. And you know how much I love a good gathering of minds!

But wait—there’s more!

November 1st is National Author’s Day, and I’m raising my quill in honor of every storyteller who’s ever dared to dream on paper. What better way to celebrate than by launching our Small Bites Short Story Contest? Starting November 1st, writers from all walks of life are invited to serve up their most deliciously bite-sized tales and I’m practically vibrating with anticipation. Think flash fiction, micro-mysteries, poetic morsels, and speculative snacks—anything that fits on a single plate and leaves readers hungry for more. The winning entries will be featured in a special anthology that’s sure to be a feast for the imagination. So sharpen those pencils, stir up your muses, and let the storytelling begin!

Meanwhile, for National Family Literacy Month, I’ve been curling up with a ghost and a bear this week, sharing fireside reads that warm the heart and tickle the imagination. Family literacy is the kind of magic that turns bedtime stories into lifelong memories, and I’m here for every cozy chapter.

It’s also Picture Book Month and I’ll been flipping through picture books with dinosaurs, balloons, and stars that practically leap off the page. There’s something about bold illustrations and big-hearted tales that makes me want to twirl in a puddle of glitter and giggles. Maximum whimsy, minimum rules—just the way I like it.

Mid-month brings a burst of energy with National Young Readers Week, and I’ll be busy sneaking bookmarks into backpacks and whispering plot twists into pillow forts. And I even plan to built a miniature library out of cereal boxes and glitter glue—because every young reader deserves a nook of their own. It’s sure to be a week of wide-eyed wonder, spontaneous story swaps, and the kind of giggles that only come from discovering a dragon in your lunchbox. Curiosity, courage, and imagination? Consider them officially unleashed.

And before I forget, Inklight 2026 is on the horizon! Tickets are now available for our June literary celebration, and early bird discounts flutter away after November 30th. If you’ve ever dreamed of mingling with authors, swapping stories under twinkle lights, and basking in the glow of creative community, now’s the time to snag your spot.

So whether you’re diving into an anthology, submitting a short story to Small Bites, sharing a bedtime tale, or discovering your next favorite picture book, November invites you to celebrate stories in all their forms. And I’ll be right here, cheering you on, waving my pencil, and flipping pages with flair.

With ink-stained affection,

Quibble
