We are saddened to share the passing of June Wilkinson, a beloved member of our creative community, who died on July 21, 2025, at the age of 85.
June’s life was a tapestry of bold choices, artistic flair, and unapologetic self-expression. Born in Eastbourne, England, she began performing at the age of 12 and quickly rose to prominence as one of the most photographed women of her era. Her career spanned stage, screen, and print, with iconic appearances in Playboy, cult films, and television throughout the 1960s and beyond. But behind the glamour was a woman of warmth, wit, and resilience—a performer who never forgot her roots and always carried a spark of joy into every room she entered.
Though June’s fame began in the spotlight, her later years were marked by quiet grace and heartfelt connection. She remained devoted to her fans, her family, and the art of storytelling. Her daughter Brahna, and her brothers Robin and John, survive her and carry forward the memory of a woman who lived life on her own terms. Her legacy reminds us that beauty is not just in the image, but in the courage to be seen.
At Indies United, we remember June not only for her storied past but for the passion she brought to her writing, she was a spark in our community. She was fearless, funny, and fiercely herself—a true original. She reminded us that reinvention is always possible, and that glamour and grit can coexist beautifully. We are honored to have walked alongside her in this chapter of her creative journey. She will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
