A Bold New Voice

ree

Welcome, Scott Leckie

We are thrilled to welcome internationally renowned author, human rights advocate, and visionary thinker Scott Leckie to Indies United Publishing House!

Scott is more than a writer—he’s a world citizen who has lived in over a dozen countries across four continents, dedicated his life to human rights, and worked in more than 80 nations to protect people from displacement and injustice. From the coastal beauty of Oregon to communities in the Dominican Republic, Kosovo, and Bangladesh, Scott’s journey is one of fearless commitment to global equity.

A Legacy of Words and Action

With a literary portfolio that spans 28 books and over 300 publications, Scott writes with passion and purpose. His work—both fiction and nonfiction—dives deep into themes like:

  • World citizenship and global governance

  • Climate displacement and housing rights

  • Property restitution for refugees and IDPs

  • The emotional and structural impact of forced evictions

His Pacifica Series, a bold seven-novel arc, explores the power of narrative to awaken empathy and action. He also honors family legacies in his moving biographies of his paternal grandfather and maternal uncle—two lives that echo his own sense of adventure and moral conviction.

Where Words Meet Impact

Beyond the page, Scott’s real-world impact is staggering. He’s the founder of three major NGOs, including:

  • Displacement Solutions (www.displacementsolutions.org), an international not-for-profit tackling climate displacement

  • Oneness World Foundation (www.onenessworld.org), a think tank reimagining global governance

  • The Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions (COHRE) (www.cohre.org), an international human rights NGO fighting for housing rights the world over

He also founded and coordinates the One House, One Family (OHOF) project, building homes in Bangladesh for families displaced by climate change, Through OHOF alone, Scott has helped build 18 homes—not just structures, but anchors of safety and dignity.

Educator, Innovator, Trailblazer

Scott also brings his ideas to life in classrooms worldwide. He designed and teaches the first-ever law school course on climate change and displacement, currently offered through Monash Law School, and has shared his expertise at some of the world’s top academic institutions.

At Indies United, we celebrate bold voices who challenge norms, build bridges, and inspire change. Scott Leckie embodies this spirit—his stories uplift communities, question borders, and offer tangible solutions to some of the planet’s most pressing challenges.

Please join us in giving Scott a warm welcome. We’re honored to be the next chapter in his extraordinary journey.
