Dave Reed has been a graphic designer for 20 years. Six years ago, he began focusing entirely on book interiors and has created over 100 books working with a variety of authors and publishers over a multitude of subjects and designs.

 

Primarily using InDesign he has created many interior designs and the occasional cover. These include novels, sports books, children’s books, coffee table books, cookbooks, and other non-standard layouts.

 

In addition to interior formatting, he has written reports, resumes, and advertising, and proofed or created brochures, sell sheets and other documents. Proofing includes grammatical, spelling, and punctuation accuracy, as well as syntax and overall concept, flow, pacing, font choices, formatting and hierarchical structure, color schemes, pictoral content, phraseology and jargon, slang where appropriate, intended audience, and general and specific content for word flow and accuracy.


 

Dave has extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress and InDesign which he uses to create a huge number of stickers, headshots, postcards, business cards, brochures, logos, posters, sell-sheets, banners and other items for print distribution.

 

In April 2017, his design for All About Sir Edmund Hillary won the gold medal award for interior design from the Independent Book Publishers Association “Benjamin Franklin Awards.”
